Jo would sit for a while and then try to stand up! Good thing the potty was empty!

Mr Rollie-Wollie
Jo has been learning how to sit on his own. In fact sometimes he would whine to be seated instead of lying down! But today he was able to sit on his own and he sat real straight! When he's sitting in the cot, he can actually pull himself halfway up! That's why parents should never leave their children unattended. Assumptions may lead to some mishap. Soon we'll have to lower his beds.
Today while sitting, he had a 'timber' and I managed to catch it on video! But he got a scare, perhaps he pressed onto his toy while 'timber-ing', and he started crying with big tear drops rolling down his face.
Its true as to what the oldies say...'7mths sit, 8mths crawl & 9mths teething'. Well, somewhat true. He's sitting and his white enamels are revealing more of themselves.

The Grinder
When we were young, we used to gross each other out with the impersonation of the grinder. Every tasty food looked gross when put to the grind. Jojo did that today with his cereal and spinach bits but his cuteness distracted us from the grossness. He's slowly learning how to chew, I mean gum his food. With veggie, he voluntarily opens his mouth for more. Not so cooperative with fruits though. Maybe the sweetness is still new to him. Or he could just be a veggie-lover.

1st taste of Broccoli
Today Jo had his 1st taste of broccoli. It was mixed with wee bit of carrots stirred into his multigrain cereal. But pity that his wait was too long so he ended up gobbling down his cereal together with his milk without really tasting the broccoli. Better luck next time.
As of today, Jo has tasted...
vegetables: 'hoi chye', spinach aka 'bo-chye' ("swee'pea"), sweet potato, carrot & pumpkin
fruits: apple & plum
grains: oatmeal & brown rice
cereal: multigrain & banana breakfast
Later today he will taste potato and kiwi.
It's really fun watching his face twist with curiosity when he learns the new taste. Thank God for no allergies.

Better and stronger balance
Now Jo can pull up to a sitting position without much assistance! It's amazing watching him develop. He is learning something new everyday! Now we can place him beside us on the sofa and he enjoys patting the sofa arm-rest cos it makes a sound. He's been promoted to the high chair as well though he tends to lean to one side.
