'Picking peanuts'

Today Jones 'picked his peanuts' on his own! I mean he grabbed his toes on his own today. He raised his right leg and he grabbed his toes with his right hand. This further confirms that he's a right handed. Some say that babes only reveal whether they're left-handed or right-handed when they are 2yrs old.

Jonah's flipping!

Jonah's finally flipping without assistance. It happened on 17 Jan 2008 while I was on the phone with Meemee. He flipped to the right and propped himself up all by himself! So does this mean he's a rightee? :)

On 24 Jan 2008 I placed him next to the right side of his playpen to encourage him to flip to the left but he ended up trying to pull himself out of the playpen!! He was pulling the side with his left hand. If he had known how to push up with his right hand, he would have rolled out of his playpen! With encouragement, he's also able to flip to the left and prop himself up without assistance. Now I'll have to watch him all the time even when he's sleeping. He's flipping over when he's awake. We'll have to lower his bed soon.

Retro Sunday

Doesn't he look like a little man? :) The shirt that Jones is wearing is as old as me! Daddy found it while clearing some stuff at the warehouse. The shirt's material is really good since it still looks new after decades! Come to think of it, its like an inheritance, passing on from generation to generation.

Time waits for no man

Gosh! Jonah is already 2 months old! Routines are still establishing and I'm still gaining my confidence. Many a times, as I look at Jonah, I ask myself...can I take care of my little one? I've come to a conclusion. I shouldn't ask such questions. Instead I should just ensure that I always give Jonah the proper care he needs.

It's really by God's grace that I've been able to care for Jonah, supplying him with sufficient milk to drink. I do wish that one day he can just sustain on the fresh source rather than the bottle. It hasn't been easy going to school while leaving Jonah behind. I guess the easy work in school makes me think of him more. I'm looking forward to the long break when I can take care Jonah myself.

Now Jonah is slowly able to focus his vision. A few days ago, when I went to check on him during the midnight feed, Jonah looked at me and smiled...the toothless smile made me melt inside. He's growing so fast. At times I wish he would grow faster so that I can play games with him and bring him to places. But there are also times I wish he would just stay as he is, tiny and helpless. It makes me want to protect him at all cost. My precious...
